I love sushi and with so many subpar sushi places around, you never know what you are going to get. It was hot and I needed some lunch in between appointments so I wanted something light and refreshing. I have been meaning to check Akeno Sushi Bar out for awhile, it’s right next to the Lidl in Alexandria that I shop at all of the time, so I decided to grab some lunch there. It was sooooo good! I got the Salmon Lovers lunch special and the fish was so fresh and the spicy salmon crunch rolls were actually crunchy and not soggy, which made me happy. The nigiri and sashimi pieces were like butter. The Thai iced tea was perfectly made and everything came out to just over $20, which is close to what most places charge for ready made sushi. I was in and out in less than 25 minutes, so Akeno will now be one of my go-to lunch spots when I need some great food but don’t have a lot of time. I can’t wait to go back for dinner and try some more!
